Why?

Because I love hearing or reading people's stories! I just genuinely want to see how people respond. That's all.

What are you going to do with the responses? Is this for a project?

I am going to read the responses and, for now, that is all. I have no definite or specific plans to do anything else with them. If, in the future, I might wish to include any submitted stories as part of a creative project, the authors of those stories would be duly contacted and consulted during the planning of any such project.

Seriously though, you're a writer. Wouldn't you just steal my response to use in one of your own stories?

I am extremely flattered that you would describe or address me as "a writer!" I mean, I'm not, really. I am a schmuck who sometimes writes for fun.

In all earnestness, though, no: I am not out to flagrantly steal anyone's experiences or ideas. I think that wouldn't be a nice thing to do. And if you don't trust my integrity and don't want to share, the cool thing is that you don't have to!

Yeah, I guess so. But I really like hearing people's stories, like I said, and I don't think there's any harm in asking.

Can I share something else with you that doesn't really have to do with the prompt?
